Hello Everyone,
I am a new writer who has finished his second novel (the first one is under lock and key as in I trunked it.) I have many ideas, but started with a YA Fantasy novel as it seems the easiest to make headway with in the current market.
My novel is titled, "The Sins of the Wolf" and it definitely is a twist on the whole werewolf genre. I have interest from one editor at Penguin and an agent, but I am still in the rewrite phase. I have workshopped the concept with editors at the NYC Pitch and Shop and it went over well. I have sent the intermediate manuscript to a friend who teaches high school english in Maryland and it has made a big impression with her and her class.
There are still a few warts that I need to sand down, but I am looking forward to another re-write, some editing, workshopping and finally querying agents.
I am here to learn and help out where I can. I am an engineer by trade, so english is not my first language
However, I have been slogging my way through many craft books and podcasts and feel that I am developing a style that reads well to me (and from comments others).
