Hello Everyone,
I am a new writer who has finished his second novel (the first one is under lock and key as in I trunked it.) I have many ideas, but started with a YA Fantasy novel as it seems the easiest to make headway with in the current market.

My novel is titled, "The Sins of the Wolf" and it definitely is a twist on the whole werewolf genre. I have interest from one editor at Penguin and an agent, but I am still in the rewrite phase. I have workshopped the concept with editors at the NYC Pitch and Shop and it went over well. I have sent the intermediate manuscript to a friend who teaches high school english in Maryland and it has made a big impression with her and her class.

There are still a few warts that I need to sand down, but I am looking forward to another re-write, some editing, workshopping and finally querying agents.

I am here to learn and help out where I can. I am an engineer by trade, so english is not my first language ;) However, I have been slogging my way through many craft books and podcasts and feel that I am developing a style that reads well to me (and from comments others).

Thats who I am in a nutshell. My blog, primitive as it may be is located at http://www.francisbruno.com. Please have a look and if anyone has any thoughts or experiences to share, feel free to contact me. I will be lurking around for a while as I do have a full time job as well as working on my new book which must remain secret for the time being and finishing up my current novel editing.

Almost forgot. I started a writing group locally for southern NH, Northern MA. If in the area, please check out: http://www.meetup.com/Rockingham-Writers/

Regards,
Francis

Welcome.

So is it the first or the second novel that you just finished?

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

It's my first novel I consider good enough to shop around. The second I've written ;)
I hope the actual novel stands up to my wart sanding imagery.

A new spin on that werewolf 'genre' thing...hmmm, I'll have to keep a look out for your book. Welcome to the forums and good luck on your novel!

Nice to meet you. I've just begun the process of querying my first novel. I've barely scratched the surface (at least that is the impression I get) as I have only sent out about 15 thus far. Right now I'm in the rejection phase, but I'm keeping my chin up and hopefully I will soon learn some new tips here.
