Hi! I'm Samara Jensen. I've been lurking around these forums for the best part of a year now and finding lots of useful information about writing along the way, but I've finally decided it's time to start posting and hopefully sharing some of my ~~mad ideas~~ knowledge with others.

So who am I? I'm a writer of Young Adult fiction, based in the UK, who has just sent her first YA novel out on submission to literary agents in the US. I am currently checking my emails obsessively in case any agents decide to get back to me, and trying to find a job that pays actual money in the meantime.

I write in the urban fantasy, paranormal romance, science-fiction and fantasy genres, though I self-published an adult romance novel a few years back. And by adult, I don't mean erotica. Sorry to disappoint.

I've just moved to the countryside after being a city girl all my life, so I'm adjusting to a wildly different way of life at the moment and meeting lots of new people.

I hope to meet lots of other lovely people here too!

Mmm...I don't write or read middle-grade novels, so I don't really know the market that well. But one writer who does write for that age group in the urban fantasy genre is Steve Feasey. He has a series of books in that genre, so it might be worth checking him out.
