I'm looking for bloggers and other online reviewers who look at self-published and independent authors.

I just published my first book, and I've spent the past month running the gamut of local and regional publications/media outlets. To date, I've been featured in a local newspaper, in a radio interview on a local television talk show, and via a regional online news site.. I should be in at least one magazine soon, possibly two. (Still waiting on the second...)

Anyway, while there's always more to learn, I think I've got the local scene pretty well covered. There are still more out there, but I have contacts I can utilize for the best chances possible. They aren't always great...but, hey, it's been a decent start.

So anyhoo, can anyone here recommend some online outlets I might try? My book is available via Amazon and as a Kindle ebook.

And of course, I'm always open to other suggestions, as well! :)

I review books on my writing blog.

There are loads of book review blogs out there. I'd suggest doing a google search for 'book reviews' maybe include your genre. Then click 'blogs' on the right hand side. You'll find loads of blogs where books have been reviewed.

Maybe also follow a few blogs on BlogLovin', see the sorts of things they are reviewing, maybe submit to them.

I'm also sure you can find other AWers who will review your book on their blogs.

Also, maybe find book clubs looking for new books and donate a few copies of yours to them. Especially if that book club has a forum/blog.

I found this somewhere ::scratches head:: - not sure where, but it's a list of reviewers who will look at indie books:

Good luck!

Grassroots approach

A smart thing to do is see who has reviewed books similar to yours on Amazon and drop them a friendly note-- a lot of prolific Amazon reviewers have contact information in their profiles- and many of them have blogs too.

Good luck!

This.

Also you could offer a free books to a few blog followers/Twitter followers/Facebook friends in exchange for then reviewing it on Amazon.

Don't ask friends to review your book on Amazon!

Be careful about asking "friends" to review your book. Unless they honestly LOVE your book and have proactively told you so, asking people you know to praise your book on Amazon or anywhere else is unethical. It's better to go with strangers when asking for reviews -- there's no conflict of interest, and it's much more credible!

I see where you are coming from. I wouldn't ask friends to review a book they hated or a book I knew they wouldn't love.

Being dishonest isn't going to get us anywhere. I meant internet 'friends' people who are a bit more objective.
