Dear Write Water Cooler Admin,

I was trying to share my work in the "Share your Work" section to get some feedback on a recent re-write, but I was unable to create a thread. The message said:

law900, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I've actually posted in the forum Share Your Work before - so I'm not sure what's happened. Could you look into it for me and let me know?

You can post in SYW, but you can't start a thread there until you have 50 posts.

So, go critique some other things in SYW and you'll have 50 post before you know it.

The rule was put into place to keep people from signing up just to get their own work critiqued without offering anything in return. If someone hangs around to get 50 posts, then they'll probably become a regular and things will even out over time (sometimes asking for help, sometimes giving it).

And you don't have to get all 50 post by critiquing. You can post in other threads and offer a comment, or idea, or just a joke in the right threads.

And welcome to AW if I haven't already told you that. There are so many newbies in the Newbie Forum that I forget who I've welcomed and who I haven't. Some of us try to welcome every newbie.
