Also known as the cross-genre, cross-posting*, Hounds in Space Fantasy Romantic Getaway prompt.

So, for this month, we thought we'd do something a little different. ("We" being Fenika in the SFF forum and myself - not just me and the voices, for a change.)
Partly in an effort to perhaps inspire something a little different, partly to bring a fresh set of eyes to our offerings, and also because for many of us the genres overlap some both in our writings and readings.
... And then partly still because Fen and I were having a conversation at the end of a long day for both of us and one of us came up with the idea and the other one went "Hey, yeah, that sounds GREAT" for no real reason other than it was the end of a long day and before either of us knew it we were actually putting the idea forth to various peoples who instead of looking at us as if we'd lost our minds the way they should have also said "Hey, yeah, that sounds GREAT" for reasons I wasn't made privy to ...
ok, that last one is a mainly, not a partly...
Anyway, the gist of it all is this:
Let me repeat that: post it over *there*, not here. They will do the same.
(If you feel you're not up to that last bit, that's okay too, but I encourage you to do so, and get us beyond the usual suspects who tend to crit our pieces.)
Keep in mind, just like horror is a broad genre with lots of dark alleys, so too does SFF have lots of shiny jet-ways and enchanted forests to stroll through.
Have at it.

*cross-dressing is optional. Leukman, Ben, this means you.

Anyway, the gist of it all is this:
- For this month, take something from Valentine's Day - be it hearts, or sweets, or red, or whatever - and give it a cross-genre spin.
- Your story should contain horror elements, obviously, but then also anything that fits within the broad range of SFF - that's Sci-fi and Fantasy
- when you are done with it, post it in the SFF SYW forum.
Let me repeat that: post it over *there*, not here. They will do the same.

I'm calling off the genre wedding.
I failed.)
