Is there anyone else in Columbus, OH that writes? I've been looking for some people to talk to about scripts and stuff.

Welcome.

I'm in Akron.
You'll have to be a little more specific. Are you looking to learn how to write a script? Someone to be your partner? Someone to write a script for you?

I'm looking for people to meet up with personally....

I'm writing a script but get blocks now and then and would love to throw stuff off anyone who is up for it. Maybe there's someone that could use some help too in the a simular situation...

Throw some suggestions back at me if you're intested

Kitchen table, parked in front of the computer.
You don't need someone

in your own state (I'm in Indiana) to work with.
The net makes the world a very small place.

There are plenty of people here who are willing to answer questions or read stuff for you.

Post some questions, participate in discussions and maybe you'll make a friend or two who will be willing to help you out through private e-mails.

As great as the internet is Scripter, nothing takes the place of a good ole fashion writers group meeting. The endless cups of coffee and danishes.

And theres something about looking your reviewer in the eye and hearing the words.

If there are no groups in your area, start one. Go to your local library, put a flyer up. Meet at a coffee shop once or twice a month. It is worthwhile.

I agree, I get a lot more out of sitting down and talking to someone, not only does it make my script better, I get a lot more jacked to write when I get around the right people....you know, people who can tweak or expand what you've been trying to put down for a long time.

I'd love to help you out, but two hours is a long drive. :)

I think what Joe said is a great idea. I might even do that.

It does help to be face to face with someone, expecially when they are reading over your script. Facial expressions can say a whole lot.
