I need to make a few tweaks to my website (upload a couple of clips in pdf format, update a couple of links within my portfolio, change some wording). It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. My website designer is on a trip abroad until mid-February and I really don't want to wait that long. Is there anybody who knows what they're doing and could make the changes if I provide my log in/Ftp info? I pay my designer by the hour, so I'll be happy to pay for an hour (even if it takes less to make the changes). I just need to get these things done! Thanks.

I could help you out, though I prefer using Cpanel over FTP for file editing.

Hi. I don't understand anything about web design, but I know my files are hosted as FTP. I don't think that can be changed (and if it can, I'm not sure I want to, just in case it creates a mess for the next person to go over the files). Can you pm your rates? Thanks.

FTP is File Transfer Protocol. It's how data/files are exchanged rapidly between one system and another keeping all the 0s and 1s in the correct place. It's got nothing to do with the way the website was created. Chances are your web designer used one of the many programs that allows that to be done and there are a lot of them. The actual information that is on the web site is in HTML. The design programs do the translation for the webmaster. There are gurus (not me) who can ftp the html and edit it directly to do what you want. The thing is, when your webperson returns, you've got to hope that the "native" HTML which has been changed is still readable by whatever program they are using.
Good luck.
