So I'm pretty much never going to be able to do NaNoWriMo. November is just the wrong month for it. Too much personal and family stuff going on that month, not to mention the whole Thanksgiving thing here in the US. And even JanNoWriMo starts too soon. The kids are still home from school as the calendar rolls over into January. So I'm doing my own unofficial version, from Jan 16 through Feb 15.
Anyone else want to join me? The rules are pretty much the same as NaNo. 50k smexy words over the course of a month. You can outline ahead of time, but not use any words that were written prior to the start date. The project can be one 50k novel, two 25k novellas, or a string of shorts, as long as the total adds up to 50k. The goal is simply words on (virtual) paper. Or consider doing half of it, if you don't have time for the whole thing.
