... you might "save as" a jpeg. That'll reduce it a lot. If you need it smaller decrease the width and height of the image and then the resolution or dpi.

Thanks but jpeg is a stationary picture. Gifs move like the one I'm currently using.

I think you need to reduce each frame individually. Or try a widget like: http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/

Verree eeenteresting. No option to change the width & height but optimizing reduced the file size, all right. I had to right-click on the desired optimized gif and save as to store it on my drive.

Well, fudge. And the snazziest I've used, GIFWorks, has been assimilated into ClipArt.com. Looks like my New Year's resolutions shall include "clean out bookmarks".
