My next novel will have the Domestic Violence theme. My main character is a consultant for the local authorities and local shelter. She helps counsel battered women.

I'm looking for domestic violence stories. Your name isn't important. I will keep that confidential.

I'm also looking for stories on the shelter side. What was it like in a shelter? How did the counselors help you? Did you feel safe in a shelter? Etc.

Finally, I'm looking for counseling experience. Stories of helping battered women. First time on scene with a domestic violence call. What would you do? How would you handle the situation? What background education do you need to fill this position?
