Is her new novel considered erotica? I read a review on Sensual Reads (http://sensualreads.com/?p=5136) and I still can't pinpoint if this is the right genre for it. If not, then it opened the door for many writers in this genre. So far, the reviews (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5943234/lisa_rinna_is_starlit.html?cat=38) are generally positive but a bit more like Jackie Collins than erotica.

What do you think?

She does find love at the end. It does have the HEA element.

I guess I need to find out what is considered erotic romance vs. what the publishers think it is. Simon and Schuster have it listed as a mainstream novel.

Haven't read it, but I think erotica is what's defined by the author and even more by the publisher. Walter Mosley's 'Killing Johnny Fry' is an erotic novel by any ordinary standards, with cuckolding and voyeurism as its primary plot elements. But it's labeled 'mainstream' and so ends up on library shelves, flying semen and all, for kids or anyone to read.

If the publisher had labeled it erotica or put a cover with a naked woman on it, it wouldn't have ended up on the open shelves.

I imagine it would be mainstream or womens fiction.
