This is how I would do it. No need for fade in and fade out.

Their pants drop to the floor.

SUPERIMPOSE: TWO WEEKS LATER

INT. GYM-DAY

REPORTER
Blah, blah, blah

Around her is the gym of the future. Holographic trainers assist the overweight and scrawny.

Hope it helps.

More trouble in Los Angeles this week after (JEFFS DAD) signed a bill that will keep this war going for months to come...

The hologram FLICKERS off. The TV is in...

INT. BROLLYS GYM - DAY - CONTINUOUS

The gym of the future. A BODYBUILDER walks by with the remote, past holographic trainers assisting the overweight and scrawny, hard-core lifters on the latest and greatest machines, and the old school on free weights. Mirrors and hologram TV’s are everywhere. He walks past Sam and Max, in front of the squat rack.

To be honest. I don't see anything wrong with the way you're doing it. The scene headings are basically there to tell the director where to shoot. In this instance, the gym. Is there a reason why you want the attention on the T.V. before the gym? Or are you just driving it because that's the way you see it?

The TV does do some plot exposition so it is important, its also the way i am seeing it. I refuse to do any sort of camera direction, or say 'we', etc so i want to get my vision across without breaking my rules.

Actually, those are really good rules. :) It's really up to the director to decide what camera angles to use, and it always sounds wierd when someone uses the word "we". But Fade in and Fade out, are also sort of like camera directions. It's up to the director to decide if the screen should go black or not. It's suggested we don't use any transitions at all except FADE IN: at the begining, and FADE OUT: at the end. You've already got your SUPER there, so there really isn't any need for it. As for the other stuff, I would consider putting the scene heading first, then the HOLO-T.V. shot with the woman reporter. Like I said before, the scene heading is basically there to let the directors know where to set up. It doesn't really make any difference to your T.V. scene. Besides that, I am assuming the holographic image of the reporter isn't standing in the middle of some dark abyss somewhere, and we're more than likely going to see tidbits of the actual surroundings during the shot.

Just my thoughts. But it's your choice. I'm not an expert, so I can't say it's right or wrong either way. :Sun:

Yah good point there. And i agree about the fade in/out and even using SUPER IMPOSE (I cringed when i wrote it). But i felt like it wont feel like enough time passed without the fade... not sure yet though i guess.

As far as where to put the tv, another good point, it is in the gym after all. I think i got that idea from reading the script to The Last Samurai. I remember Logan doing something like that in it, at least the copy i read. Guess it boils down to what i decide though
