Wow. A productive day for a short story. I had a phrase stuck in my head. "I remember the days when there used to be water everywhere." Next thing I knew, I had a 625 word short story. I even submitted it today. Conceived, written, and submitted in the same day.

Submitted to Daily Science Fiction. Hoping for the best.

Good luck! (They've rejected me twice, and then printed stories I didn't think were as good. I guess we've all been there.)

Well, it got rejected by Daily Science Fiction. So, I decided to go ahead and post it on my site. A free read for my friends. ;)

Feel free to comment and critique.

I couldn't avoid cringing when you said you submitted it (presumably without editing).
Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck.

Eh, I've made several of my biggest sales with stories conceived, written, and submitted in the same day.

It is a gift when a story comes fully formed like that. I wouldn't give up after one market though.

I always put a finished story away for a day or two, then revisit it to see what needs to be changed/fixed.

I didn't give up. I still have other stories that I continue to submit. I just figured I would post Garar's Secret for those who want to visit my site and see a short sample of my writing. I figure it's an investment. ;)
