I loved the movie. So I read the book, and loved it too.

Just wondering if anyone else here read the book, or has it on their TBR list.

The book isn't quite as funny as the movie, and it has a much greater sense of melancholy. But it's still incredibly amusing and thought-provoking. Give it a try!

Loved both. Great sense of the character.

One of the few instances where I prefer the film to the book.

Still haven't read the book. Loved the movie. First watched it at point in my life when I was really down--spring break of my last undergrad semester, getting rejected by writing programs left and right, without real-world plans, so I get hammered on a Wednesday night and watch the film. Aside from it's awesome/funny/sad/wonderfully-executed goodness, it filled me with a sort of peace. Which sounds ridiculously lame, I'm sure. Still, whenever I watch it again, it leaves me feeling like everything might be okay as a (possible less-than-impressive physical specimen of a) writer. But, anyway, I drunk-dial everyone I know at about one in the morning, spread the love around and get loved in return, figure out I'll have a life beyond that moment. The next morning, though, I find out I got into my first-choice grad program, so I got to extend that portion of my life, but, damn. That movie. Saved my life for a good twelve hours.
