I'm looking for a Spanish equivalent of the phrase "Oh well" as an indicator of acceptance or resignation as in "Oh well, I can try agan later."

How about "vale"? I've heard "Pues, vale, entonces", though I'm not a native speaker... Maybe you should post in teh international district forum.
Orale, spoken with a resigned sigh. However, I believe this is a Mexican/Chicano/Southwest American usage.

It's important to know where this person is from. Sayings in Spain are different from sayings in Mexico, or Puerto Rico etc. Each country has its own way of expression.
I think all the above phrases are good.
You can also use "qué va" though it's mostly used if the person doesn't really agree with what's been proposed, but surrenders anyway.
