Hi all. I was given a box of vintage books recently and suspect some may be valuable. I am having a hard time determining when they were printed & which printing they are, because I can't locate the ISBN. Any suggestions?

Chances are, honestly, that they won't be very valuable. Things to look for:
Pulp novels with lurid covers in good condition
Genre novels by early names like Hammett in good condition that are vf and firsts
Ace Doubles

Thanks, medievalist. I have found the copyright, but for a few of the titles, there are 2 different versions. Some obviously newer editions than the others. For example one with a copyright of 1932 is made to match another in the series from 1952, while a much older-looking version of the 1932 copyright title is in the box too.

Sometimes that's a sign of a bookclub edition. You might try looking for the books on ABE, for instance.
A couple people have asked what Ace Doubles are; they were early genre paperbacks from Ace, mostly SF and mystery, that had too short novels with two different covers in the same book.
