Oh, yeah, does anyone know if I can get my own avatar going? Not that I don't love that Aslan-lookin' lion, but I have an avatar I always use. Golden GOAT Studios, you know? The lion kinda makes that confusing.

You need to get 50 posts to upload one, IIRC. Just find a junk thread - there's one in the Celine section, I think - and keep throwing up rubbish until you hit the line.

Ooh nice art! I'm interested in anime/manga/game style art myself (although my art is not great, I wish I could stick to the writing part and find a partner who would do the drawing.

Thanks, sun. Actually, I'd suggest sticking with the art and do the writing, too. See, several years back, I was writing mainly, and got into art. Then, I started wishing I had someone to write for me. Then, I found someone. And, then, several years later, I realized that I wanted to be a writer, too. So, I had to get back into it. Granted, I progressed very quickly on my art by devoting all my time to it, but I would have liked to stay in writing during that time, too. At least more than I did.

Plus, it's hard to find that perfect collaborator. If you can do it all yourself, you're set.

Artists are always the toughest part to find - if not for their scarcity, the fact that you're trying to find someone creative who doesn't already have a sackfull of their own ideas bubbling around in their head. Not to mention that crap art is immediately obvious to everyone, while good/bad comic scripting is much more nebulous if you don't know what you're looking for.

Yeah, it's tough for writers in a field that focuses more on the visual. Thankfully, nowadays, the story is the important thing again as long as you a capable artist.

Well, I came to the conclusion that my art was never going to be professional quality, and I didn't enjoy drawing for its own sake anymore because I was always too frustrated that my drawings generally didn't come out the way I wanted them too, and the ones I did like other people didn't like. But since it has been impossible to find a loyal collaborator with similar taste, I've ended up trying to focus on a novel and other kinds of writing which can be done without illustration.

Oh, and I'm a woman btw.
