Or maybe Romance - Erotic Romance, how about?

I'm trying to work out some sort of comparison between the sales for different m/m e-publishers, and I'm hitting a bit of a wall. (I know about the EREC numbers - thanks, Veinglory - they're the best I've found so far!)

Does anyone know about the different sales strategies between the big e-publishers in m/m romance? I'm currently with Dreamspinner, and totally happy with them, but whenever I see people blogging about the top publishers, they're all about Elora's Cave and Samhain and Torquere, with hardly a mention of Dreamspinner. So, from that, I assumed that Dreamspinner was a pretty minor house, and the other places would have better sales.

But then I look at AllRomance E-books, and a few other multi-publisher sales sites, and it seems like Dreamspinner is doing REALLY well in their sales rankings, while the other three I mentioned above barely show up. Confusing.

So what I wondered was - are the other publishers following a different sales model? Like, do they not list their books at the external sales sites, or do they only list old titles there? I've noticed that Samhain seems to have a sort of hybrid site, My Bookstore and More, that sells MOSTLY Samhain titles, with a smattering from other publishers. But people can also buy directly from Samhain. Does anyone know whether most e-book sales are through the publisher sites, or through multi-publisher 'bookstore' sites?

I'm getting pretty prolific, so I thought maybe I could submit books that I think are similar (like, same heat level, as close as I can get to same saleability) to different publishers, and see what happens. But if anyone else has already done this and wouldn't mind sharing their experiences, that'd be great.

Thanks for any help.

For Loose Id the great majority of sales are direct from the publisher, maybe 5% from all other vendors. I think Ellora's Cave is similar.
