Mailing a query and synopsis

Probably a silly question, but...

What is the best/proper way to mail a query letter and/or query letter-synopsis to an agent?

If they ask only for a query letter, then it stands to reason to use a standard 10# envelope; assuming it acceptable to crease the query letter.

Also, if you are required to send a synopsis (several pages) along with the query letter, then is it more proper to send the material in a large package so that it does not get creased (especially the sysnopsis)?

I know that an agent will not accept or toss anything based solely on how it was sent, and if it contains a crease or not, but in such a competetive marketplace I want to know that I am submitting my material in the "correct" manner.

General rule of thumb: Under five pages, send materials folded in thirds in a #10 business size envelope w/ SASE for response folded inside. More than five pages--send flat using a 9x12 envelope with #10 business size SASE inside for response.
