Let's hope he hasn't lost his touch. His first novels were classics, then, I think, the capitalists captured him.

Wow, looks like he's going the Patterson route with a paid coauthor. :D

Clancy has pretty much always used a co-author, even in the beginning. Unlike Patterson, however, Clancy actually does an equal share of the writing. His is a true collabiration, not simply hiring someone else to write the book, as Patterson does.

I may or may not read this one. I loved his first few novels, but I thought the last two or three books Clancy wrote were incredibly boring.

He did an excellent job with Sum of all Fears, then Hollywood screwed up the movie trying to be politically correct. I don't understand why they couldn't have followed the book. They had a guaranteed, slam-dunk block-buster. Any complaints from those political correct police could simply have been directed to Clancy.
