Hello everyone,

I'm sulong, and I'm a procrastinator.

I don't have a real job, but I make a poor living trading currencies and index futures.

I got interested in this writing thing when I realized that writing skills are the bases for all advancement in learning about any subject that is of interest.

Through my search into human nature and what triggers humans into action,I'm thinking that perception and emotionalism are the key ingredients.

With that said, my intent with participating on your wonderful board, is to give myself some motivation to consistently write down my observations, thoughts, and emotional triggers.

As I said, the biggest problem I'm facing currently, is that of procrastination, so here's what I'm looking forward to being a first step in turning a weakness into a strength.

Hello sulong

I'm with you on the procrastination thing. I was going to send this "hello" a week ago, ^-^

Hey Uncle Jim is right, you must write everyday, you must, you must, you must.

That is what it takes.

I am getting up to about 3/4 out of the week, but have got to get better.

Write well!

Sulong I want to welcome you to the Absolute Write. I'm new here too! I write poetry and am working on writing other things. You are right about perception and a person's emotions. All that is portryed in everything we write. I think poetry is the best type of writing for an example of that, because poetry portrays sadness, happiness, anger you name it you can probably create a poem out of it. Other writings though show how we feel. Stories sometimes takes a person and portray them in the story with their life and how they feel. So emotions and perceptions are everywhere.
Good luck! sunshinefaith

Doyle,

Thank you for the chuckle, there’s something about tomorrow that is so magnetizing.

The thing I’m working on now is buckling down and scheduling a time to focus without distractions. It seems that I have a focus time of about 10 minuets at a go.

I’m taking it on faith that some people can write for 2 hours at a time, as my own habits will not support that hypothesis.

We’ll see how it goes.

Thanks for the welcome.

Sunshine,

Thanks for the welcome.

During the course of learning to trade the financial markets, I got intrigued with the way econ reports, and news bulletins were worded, and then the reactions of traders to that information. Those reactions happen over and over to the point they become somewhat predictable.

When I broke my observations down, I realized that markets are moved by intelligent word smithing. First plant a perception, and emotional reaction will take care of the rest.

Anyway, I guess the point is, is that the ones who are putting out the words, are the ones who are in control.

It is an old saying, but true, the pen is mightier than the sword. The difficulty is in getting what you write published, that's were the wisdom and experience of the folks who habituate this board will come in handy, and even useful.

Do you have a TV, sulong? Get rid of it. Try it for 6 months, and see if you don't actually spent more time writing. It works.
