Hey everyone! I'm currently outlining and plotting my YA novel. However, I've run into a bit of a wall and not sure how I should handle a few situations. I was hoping you all could give me a little help.
So my mc is teenage prince who grew up surrounded by violence and murder. Fighting was part of his education. His father, an immortal king, is a known war hero and crusader who has slain many. My mc is traveling with his brother where they become involved in a large brawl and his brother is killed by a hidden archer. My plan was for the mc to break down, lash out, and kill a few of the attackers in hopes of reaching the archer. Weeping with anger while he did it. The more I think about it the more I think it's too far out of his character and that he wouldn't do it. My other thought is that it would be good to show some dark side, especially since he does have to kill a few people later (out of self-defense of course). I can't seem to decide how to handle the situation. I keep going back and forth on it. What are your thoughts? I'd be more than happy to hear anything you have to say! I'd love your advice! Thank you!
