So, when I was a kid, I frekken LOVED Exo-Squad. I didn't remember anything about it, but I remembered that it was awesome.

Imagine how overjoyed I was when I found that it was not only out on DVD, but also on HULU!

I started watching and guess what...Exo-Squad is STILL awesome.

Here is the pitch for those who missed this little gem of 90s animation.

Its the future! Humanity has colonized and terraformed Venus and started work on strip mining Mars, using the forced labor of genetically engineered humanoids called Neo-Sapients. They didn't like being enslaved, so they rose up in rebellion. Humans kicked their asses with the use of powerful E-Frames (think power armor) and now, 50 years later, a powerful Neo-Sapient leader has amassed a huge army, conquered Venus, Earth and Mars.

Now the fate of humanity rests in the hands of the human resistance, split between those back on Earth and those in space, who battle on using the surviving E-Frames: In other words, the Exo-Squad.

At first glance, Exo-Squad really sounds like a pitch to sell more toys...but when you watch it, it tosses around awesome sci-fi concepts left and right. Issues of freedom, what makes someone human or not human, genocide and slavery, power armor is freaking AWESOME, and other such hefty concepts.

I heard the show described as Starship Troopers meets the Transformers animated series...and...well, that actually sounds just about right.

So go on Hulu and check it out!

(Warning, this show is incredibly white. Like, I've watched the first two episodes and there's nothing but white people. That's my only major complaint so far...so white. Augh.)

I'm on Episode 9 and I'm loving this show even more than when I was a kid.

Seriously, this is the best example EVER of what happens when you don't underestimate your audience. This is seriously bad ass military sci-fi, easily as good as anything from Japan.

I demand more people watch this show. Demand, I say!
