Now that is clever. lol. What a riot. My heart goes out to those that have this happen. (Makes note.....if I ever do this....take along about 10-15 of my best friends and make them hang around me.)

Poor guy!

Maybe it's because they stuck him in a Waldenbooks. Waldenbooks is the red-headed stepchild of bookstores here in Seattle. I'm not sure if we even have one anymore...

Oh man, that poor guy. Publishers nowadays have gone nearly AWOL on publicity for authors who aren't superstars.

Hilarious and so true!
I've known something like that. ONce, I did a book tour with Barbarara Erskine; I don't know if she's well known in the US but she's pretty huge over here; she had blurbed my book so they put us together. We had packed audiences, but they were all for her!

Yup. It happens. You can have a great book, publicize the heck out of the signing, be at a good store, but if the readers don't come, it's not necessarily because of the author or his book. Especially if he's sitting next to Mary Higgins Clark! Guess all he can do is wave.

I'm gonna have to remember to take an origami book and fold if I ever do a signing. It'd make things interesting! And then I could give away random models to anyone walking by.

But sometimes nobody even walks by... :e2cry:

Speaking from personal experience? Me? Well, maybe just a little.

*sniff*.

Then I could give it to the staff on the way out as a thank you. :D
