Do you sell your ebook on Amazon?

I uploaded my ebook to Amazon last weekend (Sunday), and sold my first copy yesterday (Tuesday)! It's a Kindle edition, which took 2-3 hours to format properly (my ebook is almost 70 pages, and has tables and formatting to correct for Kindle).

Do you sell your book on Amazon? I earned a whopping $3.48.....but I suppose it's money I didn't have last week....

I don't know if George frequents this forum, but he really encouraged me to give it a try. I'm glad I did; it's neat to be on Amazon

No. Although my book is listed on Amazon, it's not where I get my direct sales. I've had far too many problems with Amazon changing the price of my book, making it 'out of print' (despite being an e-book!), changing the cover, and making copies with different information.

I put my first ebook (Fire Up the Muse) on Amazon, and have sold one copy. I don't think I'll put my second one there...but I keep wondering if the second is more "commercial", and may sell more???

Maybe it's worth doing, just to find out if it works!

I put my book up a couple of weeks ago and have sold 8 so far. (well, nine, but I bought one to check the formatting.)

The first 2 days I sold 3 copies of mine. Now I'm sitting here a week later and I've still only sold 3 copies.

It's funny. For the past month my book has been pretty solidly ranked in the top 1-50 in the Kindle Store for YA historicals. In money, it amounts to about a tank of gas. Can't wait for that new royalty system. As far as I'm concerned that 30% rate is no better than stealing.

I have an old (2003) tech manual that I sell 5-10 copies of a month.

I just listed an MG short story for 99¢ and haven't sold a single copy (about 4 days now).

I think some categories sell better than others. For example, How-to, and Romance.

I write urban fantasy and have both my books on sale on Amazon, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they moved MUCH better than my hard-copy books. I will be the first to admit that I seriously slacked off on marketing my series, mostly due to workplace obligation, but I logged into the digital platform and discovered, shockingly, that I moved twice as many copies digitally than I did in hard-copy!

B&N is releasing a self-publication platform, and when I queried Borders about the Kobo upload, they referred me to Lulu...so there are possibilities, definitely.

I put my novel on their site about a year ago. I was really just interested to see how their conversion process handled the PDF to MOBI conversion. I didn't intend to sell any copies, and set the price at $.99. I would have made it free, but they don't allow that as an option. I haven't been back to look at it since then, but I've received no kind of notifications that any copies sold.

It didn't handle the conversion process very well, by the way.
