I'm working on a graphic novel which has a lot of artwork I feel would transfer well to items like T-shirts and greeting cards. I'm interested in exploring book-related merchandise both as a means to promote book sales and as a revenue stream in itself.

Has anyone had any success with this sort of thing? I don't see much discussion about it, so I wonder if anyone's doing it! :)

As for companies providing merchandise services, the major players seem to be CafePress and Zazzle. Add in Spreadshirt if you're only interested in T-shirts.

Anyone used any of these? I'm leaning towards Zazzle based on comments I've read about CafePress's printing quality.

I've used Zazzle for some of my past projects. From my past experience:
Advantages: multicurrency (pounds and dollars, euros should be coming soon) and international dispatch. Good quality. Easy to set up and use, particularly with the bulk creator and uploader. It's also easy to set up affiliate links for additional revenue.
Disadvantages: it's not the cheapest out there, although there are discounts for quantity. If you use the bulk item creator, you need to go through and check each item it creates as the image placement isn't always logical.

Overall, I like it. I moved away from Cafepress to Zazzle because it had a wider range of products, although I'm not sure if that's still the case.
