Welcome to May, friends! :Sun: Don't let the "maleficent" throw you. It's a friendly thread (unlike that challenge thread :evil, haha).

Everyone welcome. Join in!

I got 1366 today, in the car no less, completing the first draft of an assignment. :hooray:

I didn't know Maleficent was an actual word. Maybe "Magnificent" would make more sense. Oh geez. I'm beta reading threads now.

I got somewhere between 1800 and 2000 today. Not sure exactly...

Maleficent: Doing evil, harm, or mischief.

It will also be magnificent.

I thought that word sounded nefarious. I still would have gone with marveliferous. :tongue Which is definitely not a word, but I don't care. :D

So we're in for a mischievous May, are we? *rubs hands together maleficently*

I think that "Maleficent May" sounds mellifluous. :)

HJ, 'tis official: you are wonderwoman. You finished the assignment? Seriously? I'm in awe. And I'm just a wee bit green with envy. Must keep nose to the grindstone...

Hey writers. Happy Sunday. My (insane) husband is off to run the Tough Mudder today. It's some crazy race where he'll have to run through fire, swim across a frozen lake, run through thigh-high snow, clear a 12 ft smooth wall, crawl under barbed wire, and shimmy his way through a long tunnel of tires. And that's just a portion of the 7+ mile challenge.
I ask...Why? *Sigh*
I will challenge myself to fold and put away laundry, feed the girls lunch, write at least 500 words, make my bed, and possibly paint my toenails. Phew! I'm tired just thinking about my day.

I'm not writing much this month, however, I will be around to throw in sarcastic comments and such.

Oh, and in honor of jude's choice of "maleficent" as the title of May's thread, and it's meaning, I've picked Gargamel from "The Smurfs" as my funny avatar of the month.

+1, Doc. Everything is on the internet!

BTW, maleficent is spelled maleficient in some dictionaries... Maybe that's part of the confusion... I'll go without the extra i cause I'm lazy like that... :sleepy:

In the foothills of nowhere...
1500+ today.

I'm hoping to at least average 500 a day sine it's unlikely I will be able to write on quite a few days. Maybe I'll be wrong and will get to write at odd times. ;)

DocBrown, that's exactly the online dictionary I use, or more specifically, I love its thesaurus.

I got two words today. And I forget what two words they were. But I'm certain at some point this morning I added two.

That's it.

Who owns a dictionary anymore? :Wha:

I got rid of mine years ago.

Don't we all use http://dictionary.reference.com/ by now? :PartySmil

Just one more thing the internet replaced in my house. I love the modern world. :e2cloud9:

I meant the dictionary app on my iPod. :tongue

My parents might have a dictionary around here somewhere but it's probably buried in a box in the storage room.

Well heck they were probably very important words! Hummmm ...
I'm innocent!
He died.
A bomb!
What the ....
Don't shoot!

Wow, you could have just created a "Holy crap, I never would have guessed that!" moment.

Two words is two words that could change everything.

Thanks for asking, HJ. He lived! He said it was a lot of fun. The atmosphere was low key and full of camaraderie. He saw a guy running the race in the one-piece Borat swim suit. Three dudes dressed as blue Avatar aliens raced too. Fun and funny.

He finished the race in good time and is enthused to do the next one in November. Methinks I've got an addict on my hands now.

That's awesome, Spring, but I think the real question on everyone's mind is did your toenails ever get painted?

HA HA!!! Oh, Kaitie...alas, my toenails did NOT get painted. But I didn't fold or put away laundry either. So...ah...I failed my list fairly fantastically.
