It's much to my personal sorrow, but for what I very much believe is the good of the Poetry Forum, I'm stepping down as co-moderator of the Poetry Forum; please give the wonderful, redoubtable Trish (Stew21) your support going forward.
Thank you, everyone. It has been a great honor and pleasure serving you as moderator.

Rob, you have my warmest thanks for all you've done for AW. You better not be a stranger, or we'll have to come hunt you down.

Rob has promised me he's not leaving AW, guys -- just taking off the shock-collar. And rest assured, I've told him the door is open should he reconsider, down the road.

Being a moderator is never easy and I understand the need to step away from wearing the hat. I had to do that at another site a few years ago after serving for years. Though a sad decision to step down, it was a relief for me. I hope your decision will be a relief for you and bring you what you are looking for, Rob. Expect the first few weeks to be odd. Your head will feel funny without the weight of the hat, but you will get used to it in time.
Thank you for your service, Rob. I am so glad you are not leaving AW.
Take good and gentle care of you.

Sorry to hear it, but I understand the need to step back sometimes when life happens to you. Here's hoping that the things happening are good ones, and that we will continue to see your poems and crits here.

*terrified*
I'm not sure I know what to do here without him. We balanced each other quite well, I think.
Rob, you've been amazing supporter, mentor, co-mod and friend for all my time at AW. I know you aren't riding off into the sunset or anything, but it feels a bit like it to me.
My goodness the shoes my little feet have to fill.
*wipes tears* I told myself I wouldn't cry. pfft. (don't feel bad about that though, I cried when Haskins stepped down, too). ;)

So.... there's a mod position open????
:D

Nope. Rob and I discussed it and he very kindly asked if I wanted another mod. I told him the surest way for me to step up like I should in this room is to have to do it alone for a while.
So I am.
I hope I can foster the flavor and style in this room that will make my predecessors proud and make the poets here comfortable and productive.

Yes you do, Mr. C. Yes you do!
Let's do an Ode to PIAH, shall we. Send him off to Mendoza's with style. I need to be rebaptized in poetry. I need to be jacked into the deep end of the pool. And I think it is fitting that we have a tribute to our wonderful Poetinahat.

I put my ode to poet in this forum, so the new mod could practice moving things around. Where do you want the odes, Stew?
See how helpful I can be? :)

I hardly know what to say. I didn't even know your name was Rob. :) Best of luck finding things to do in all that free time you're going to have now. I do hope you will hang around and say a few more nice things about my meagre bits of doggerel.

Hey PIAH, I take this to mean that you will now have more time to suffer your muse. Hope to see you posting again soon.
PS, I'll be giving you a liquor-drenched send-off (three fingers and rocks) later this pm so if I post an addled bit of verse 'round midnight, you are the reason why.

I'll have one or two with you, Mag.

Did not know you well, or for long, but when you posted, either with a poem or a crit, their was the essence of warm authority behind them, a fatherly figure in words of advice, care for those new to posting. If it turns out that you will now be free to post more, we will be the winners, again.

Robert (now, you know I'm serious), I'm sorry to see you turn in your keys, but do remember I know where you live. If I don't see you here regularly, we're going to fight.
Thanks for your care of the poetry room and, Trish, we know it'll be in good hands.

Been as there's no leaver's pot being passed around and I can't stick a few quid in for you, will a gentle 'thank you' be okay? (Please say it is -- I'm skint, and I've got kids -- hungry, really raggedy ones that need new clothes, and shoes (you seen the naked little blonde kid to the left -- he's one, and can you really take money from his mouth?))
You'll be missed as mod', hun.:Hug2:
And Stew... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm dumplings. We likes a bit of stew...

PiaH, your poems and critiques always have a lot of thought and consideration behind them, which I've valued the whole time I've been here.
Your support in mine, and everyone else's poetry has been outstanding. For that, I thank you for.
Sad to see you step down and I hope you won't be a stranger to the forum. I'm hoping to see some more of your work. Best wishes.

Rob,
You have been an outstanding mod, encourager, critter, poet, and friend to all who have posted here. You'll be missed as mod, but we hope to continue seeing you in all the other roles.
Trish,
You've been around for all of us too, so we know what you can do. So...stop crying--you're getting my keyboard all wet. And keep keeping david in line...

Rob - AW was my first online participatory experience and you were the first to welcome me and offer a tour of how everything worked and where to find coffee. You truly were my mentor here and it was comforting to know you were there. Thanks ever so much & all the best.
