During my spare time at the library when I have nothing else to do, I read a book. Mostly, I've been reading from the Young Adult bookshelf. These are "Pure Young Adult Fiction". That is, no fantasy, no science fiction, no horror, no other genre combined with it.
Many of these books deal with a serious issue that teens deal with in society such as drinking, overeating, suicide, being assertive, and more. Here's a list of what I've read.
Series Canada/Series 2000: This is a series of books written in first person view and using a teen as the protagonist and narrator. Titles in these two series include Riot on the Street, Break Out, The Last War, We Both Have Scars, Ice Hawk, and much more.
Who Killed Christopher?: When his best friend is killed in an accident that is suspected as suicide, a teenager in a german village tries to cope. Mostly told in flashbacks.
Pig Out Blues: An overweight girl diets to lose weight in order to land the part in a play.
The Boy Who Drunk Too Much: A boy tries to help his best friend who drinks.
The Girl Death Left Behind: A teenage girl whose parents and siblings are killing in a car accident is sent to live with her aunt and must cope with moving on.
Has anybody heard of these or read them?
