Okay, not really. By ENEMY, I mean awesome writing buddy who wouldn't mind having the occasional word count duel with me.
I'm not done with my project, so obviously I don't need a beta yet, but when you're done with yours and I'm done with mine, this whole ENEMY business could blossom into a wonderful, mutual betaship.
My project is a YA contemporary/high fantasy affair. I know, those two descriptors seem a little contrary. My MC is a stubborn, mouthy girl from our world who's forced to flee to another, one replete with magic and intrigue and folks trying to kill her. Thus, her view of this other world (and the scary situation she's found herself in) is colored by her love of track meets, Chinese takeaway, family vacations, and not taking crap from anyone--not even that guy with the sword.
I promise it's a lot cooler than it sounds.

I'm actually in the process of writing a new novel at the moment and lost my favorite beta/reader who I usually toss ideas and chapters around with She's busy busy because she's preparing to go to college next year. (How inconsiderate is that? lol jk)
