I'm looking for Beta Readers of my dark fantasy novel about insects, There are No Gods for Arthropods.
Genre: Dark Fantasy. I'm not sure if it's middle grade or YA just yet. However, a few of my influences are Richard Adams, Douglas Adams, and Neil Gaiman.
Feedback: I like honest feedback. However, I don't want any pointedly discouraging or useless "you suck" or "you call this writing?" sort of criticism. So yes, say what you truly feel, but please tell me exactly what is wrong and why you didn't like it.
I'm looking for Betas interested in giving a comprehensive critique of the plot, dialogue, characterization, and overall appeal of the story. You don't have to be credentialed just willing to carefully read the entire manuscript from beginning to end. I wish to query agents and Pub Genius.
My Biggest Weakness: My weakness as a writer is dialogue. So, if you have any helpful tips in this aspect please feel free to voice your opinion.
My Biggest Strength: Creativity. I can create interesting plot ideas and characters. I actually made it to the 2nd round of Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and I think that's mostly because of my strong query letter (I had some help awhile back from great AW posters), which basically gives the major plot and character details of my book.
Word of Warning: My book does contain strong secular themes and I don't wish to offend anyone of any religious persuasion. Please be aware of this when critiquing the WIP.
Also, I'm willing to beta other works. My preference is science fiction (it can be romance too. I've been hankering to read a romance recently.) and Fantasy.
