I saw in the "Longest book you've read thread" that some of you don't appear to know how to find a book's word count. Wanted to share.

This site: http://www.renlearn.com/store/country.asp?back=/store/quiz_home.asp&refer=

has the word count for a lot of books if you enter the title. Unfortunately it's mostly for classics and kid books (I think).

You can also find the word count on Amazon, but only for certain books. If you look at those that have the "Look Inside" option they sometimes have the count.

Open the page (the main page, not the sample pages) and scroll down to where it says "Inside This Book" in gold. Then go over to where it says "Text Stats" (they don't all have it, unfortunately). Click it and scroll down to "Number of." It should say "Words," among other things. Great feature!

If anybody knows other ways, don't hold out on us. Share please!

Wow...

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is 257,154 words! It certainly didn't feel that long when I read it. Then again... JK Rowling knows her stuff.
