I poked my head around here late last year, but I've been hard at work on a new novel and am just now getting back to AW.

Very happy to say that I'm over the genre confusion - my new book is a paranormal romance, and I'm tickled ..uh, purple with blue glitter (these are Goth-Paranormal colors, according to my 12 year old daughter)...about it.

Noticed there aren't many beta readers for PA/RO. Can anyone here point me in the general direction of betas, or would anyone be willing to beta?

I submitted my first novel without betas (aside from two friends who loved every single thing about it but couldn't give me much feedback as far as writerly things), and it was just trunked after some really nice comments by agents who just didn't feel it was right yet.

In the meantime, I'll be around. I'm working on edits, but I'm always looking out for whatever else I can learn about this business.

Hi wishing for Romance

Geez, I don't know if reading maybe a billion books qualifies me to be a beta or not. There seems to be a lot of people doing the same things in romance and maybe it was planned that way...hmmm..I don't know. I'm as romantic as the next person I guess but I didn't pick up a romance novel for the first 30 yrs of my life, thought them not my thing but now they are my thing! I read differently now I write tho'. Hazoo there. Many welcomes. Iz me talking to meself these days, unemployed and reckless.
