Probably not just you, but I think yadda, yadda, yadda is a good way of eliminating the unnecessary part of a story.

I also find the word yadda a little silly. However, Yadda is the name of a WMD that the SAS special forces will find inside Iran. Yadda is also the name of a pop band that will overshadow Bee Gees and the like. There will be an important British politician called Charlene Yadda, who will make history when she becomes PM at age 12. "Yadda, Yadda, Yadda" will be the best selling novel ever printed.... and yadda, yadda, yadda.

Are you still alive? Need a group hug?

My ex-wife's lawyer actually cited a case like this (not the real case names) "Inker vs Blinker set the precedent that when an original prenuptual agreement is superceded by a secondary agreement yadda yadda yadda."

My lawyer was like, "Objection! What the fuck is that shit?"

I think 'yadda yadda yadda' has a place in language, so I don't mind it at all. I would be a bit annoyed if a lawyer used it in a court room like that though! Or any other situation which is a bit too formal for such an off-the-cuff phrase.

I guess it's like having no objection to 'it's' except when it's used when the apostrophe isn't needed. GAH!

Did yadda yadda yadda exist before Seinfeld, by the way? I'm rather fond of the expression.

I hate it, and when someone says them I have a sudden urge to punch that person in the face.

There's a time and place for everything. The common phrases, slang and made-up words that we use today have their own little niche here and there. It's not such a bad thing.

If it weren't for Destiny's Child, the slang word "bootylicious" would never have come into popular use, ultimately not having a place in the dictionary. Now I have a word to describe someone that is "sexually attractive, especially in the buttocks".

The expression originated in Seinfeld. It is synonymous with "and so forth" or "and on and on". I haven't heard it much in the last ten years, so I think it is dying a slow and deserved death.
