How can I find out exactly how many books I've sold?
Are we as authors at the mercy of our publishers in this regard? What if they aren't honest - how would we know?

I was told that a site called "Books and Writers" would let me know the number of books sold, so I paid for a subscription and all they tell me is my ranking on amazon. I can see that for myself! :Hammer:

Hi Rose Colored Glasses,

From what I know, there is no way to know exactly how many copies of books you sold. Your royalty check is it and there is no way to know if it's correct. You can check ingrams automated system to get an idea of how many books were ordered, etc.. This is there number. 615-213-6803. There is a 1-800 number. Try to find that one. This number is long distance. Amazon and Barnes & Noble have rankings but that doesn't offer any real information on books sold. Hope this helps somewhat.
