I received an invitation to send the first fifty pages of my novel to an agent, but I'm not sure what I should include with it. My first idea was a brief letter, thanking the agent for reviewing the material and stating the first fifty pages were included, but that seems like an awful short letter and its pretty obvious that the pages are included--there right there in front of him.
