So...after a very disappointing 2009 for the Wii (with the exception of MP Trilogy and New Super Mario Bros Wii, which were really just ports), 2010 looks to turn the little white box into a gamer's console again. Check out the sweet line up for the first half of the year:

http://wii.ign.com/articles/107/1073567p1.html

Not to mention we've already got Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and No More Heroes 2 this year. Now we're getting all these other sweet games before July???

Also, rumor is (though it's not likely) that the next Zelda game will be out before year's end. That would mean the Nintendo trifecta (Mario, Zelda, and Metroid) all have games releasing in a single year.

I know there aren't a lot of other Wii owners in this subforum, but hey, we need a thread to rejoice in, too! So let's rejoice, because we've got some seriously great games to buy! *dance*

Yay! I finally won't feel defrauded from having bought the Wii... seriously, I mostly got it since I am a big Zelda geek... if you don't believe me; ask my Link, Zelda and Ganondorf action figures.

I had GC so I didn't need the Wii for TP.
I want to play the new Zelda console game though, and it's looking like I'll need a Wii for it.
I don't like that remote. I want my two-handed controller and buttons....someone help persuade me.

Hell yes

I find it waaay easier on the wii remote than the standard button mashing ( once you get the hang of it that is). Plus less RSI.

And I know a guy who helped design the chip that makes it work. He's an awesome dude. That help?

What's that? Nintendo's releasing another billion levels of mario, another zelda, and another metroid? There's the cutting edge originality I look for in a game.

"No, no, it's all different, dave! In Mario Wii, you have to flip the controller up to jump!'

Yeah, bite me, mario.

The Wii is always going to have trouble attracting serious, hard core gamers until it gets hard core games. Hard core games developers aren't going to develop for the wii because the controls are *barely* accurate enough for children's games... how much you want to bet trying to snipe someone through the Wii-nfrared Night Scope's gonna suck?

Nintendo developed a great kids' system, a great party system. IMO, not a great gaming system, and hardcore gamers know that.

The only reason I'm currently buying it is for Link.
And seriously hoping Midna makes a comeback.

Warning: Nintendo Fangirl Alert

I don't have a Wii for college, but I do have one at home.

And as for the originality thing, how about all those Halos, God of Wars, and Grand Theft Autos? I know it's not quite the same, but who cares? They're icons, and with Zelda and Metroid, they're building onto the overall story.

And sniping/shooting with the Wiimote is a lot easier than other controllers. There's a bit of a learning curve, but that's it. The only things keeping hardcore games off the Wii are reputation and graphics.

The little doo-hickey they brought out to stick on the end and make it more accurate (as the art mistress said to the bishop) actually works quite well. Far better than the standard wii-mote anyway.

Nowhere. Now here.
I never bought a Wii but I was intrigued by games like Second Trauma. There just didn't seem to be enough content that was to my general taste when gaming.

Really though, without main series games from SquareEnix and Capcom, I'm out. I'll admit to being a Final Fantasy and Street Fighter fanboy. What fun it might be if they developed Power Stone 3 for the Wii, though, with that controller... I could see it being really cool.
