I've been forced to use Windows 7 and the interface annoys to me to no end. A problem i can't find a solution for is the incredibly annoying archive integration in the explorer. Anyone know how to get rid of that? It just uselessly clutters up the folder tree, and windows takes ages to browse a folder with a few dozen (or hundreds) of archives.
In XP it worked by unregistering zipfldr.dll and manually binding .zip files to a program. Doesn't work in Win 7 though and i can't find a solution. Anyone here know how to do that?

I am perfectly accustomed to Windows 7. It's the OS my computer brought when I bought it in Dec. 2009 and got in the mail and started using in Jan. 2010, so it really doesn't take me too long to get used to a certain OS.

I'd been using XP from the year 2002 to the year 2007 in 3 different computers until I got my first laptop which had Windows Vista, but lamentably I don't know what you're talking about.

I hope there's someone else who can better help you. I felt bad because there were 43 views in your topic and no replies. I am going to ask this question in Yahoo Answers and come here with their replies.

Answer from Yahoo Answers...

There are more steps involved that are detailed at the source but here is the start:

The process is similar to Vista in terms of deleting the same registry keys. However, due to additional protections built-in, you must first change ownership of the keys to your username, which must be an administrator account.

1. Open Registry Editor (go to Start Menu -> Run and type “regedit“).
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ and perform steps 3-7 for each of the two keys:

I hope this helps. I'll be waiting for more answers to paste them here for you.
Sincerely
