What? It's a question.

Inane? Hmmm. On reflection, definitely.

And it should generate zero responses.

Sometimes I sit back on my haunches, on the floor in front of the settee with the laptop on the coffee table.

Sometimes I sit on the settee with my legs under me, laptop on...lap. Funnily enough.

Sometimes I curl up on the floor, knees to my chest, leaning over the laptop on the floor in front of the fire.

Sometimes I master the art of levitation and type upside down, three inches from my bedroom ceiling.

It depends on where I am.

If I'm at a desk (at work), I sit up straight.

If I'm on my laptop on the couch, most of the time, I slouch.

If I'm at the table or sitting on a chair with my laptop, I'm pretty much sitting up straight.

Sloucher, me. I notice that I tend to lean closer to the screen as the day wears on and my eyeballs wear out. At which point I'll consider changing my font to Nefertiti 72 point, although this often makes me question how long a paragraph should be.

I hunch over the keyboard until I notice the stabbing pain between my shoulder blades, then I sit up straight.

I did set up my laptop with a wireless keyboard & mouse, to display through my 40 inch high-def TV, so I could relax in my recliner and work on my novel. I've never used it that way. I prefer working at a desk.

The desk is the one place I get to tell the rest of the world to go screw, it's mine. So I'm with you there.

I sit up straight all the time. I was nearly killed in a horse riding accident several years ago and I'm very aware of how fragile the human back actually is. (it didn't stop me riding though :))

I do tend to sit with my knees apart though to maintain a more natural weight distribution and posture. I never cross my legs as this is one of the worst things you can do for your posture according to my physio.

I slouch when surfing on my desktop, but not when writing. I think it's the different arm position when typing that reminds me to sit up straight.

I rarely write at my desktop now. I usually use my husband's work laptop, and sit either on the sofa with my feet up, with a cushion and a large hardback supporting the laptop on my lap, or sit on one of those faux leather cube/footstools, with my back against a chest of drawers (and a cushion) and the laptop on a piece of board that is balanced on a couple of plastic boxes, with a laminator to counterbalance it. Both feel quite comfortable for my back. I do pay attention, as it's usually back and neck problems that cause my migraines. First sign of one coming on, and it's yoga DVD time, which stops it 90% of the time. :) Don't forget to stretch regularly, fellow slouchers!

I've recently take to curling up and / or lolling on the sofa with the laptop and the dog on my feet to keep them warm. As the laptop isn't connected to the net and has no games or anything - and the dog is a bugger to get moved when you want to get up - I've been getting a lot more writing done!

Exchange dog for cat and lap for laptop table and we're nearly twins ;D

when I'm in the upright position, I'm slouching. But I like to lean back against the wall when I'm sitting bed to write, with the lappy on my knees.

Thank you for asking :)

Judging by how sore my shoulders get, I probably slouch. More frequent breaks might help. And not slouching, I guess...

I have a team of monkeys who type for me and they're not so good at sitting up straight unless it's to fling paper across the room. So...they slouch while I sit on the couch, watch Oprah and eat bonbons.

Sloucher/curler here. At the moment, though, I'm at my desk, using the PC, so no slouching. Normally, though, yeah.

I either sit up straight, or sit in a tiny little ball with my knees up and my chin resting on them. Which hurts like crazy when I finally decide to move out of this position.
