Any other fans of Joss Whedon on here? I loooved Buffy, that's what first got me hooked (last October, actually, so I'm a pretty new fan). I like Angel alright, I'm finishing up Season Five, and I LOVE Firefly - just saw Serenity. Dr. Horrible's pretty awesome too. I haven't seen Dollhouse yet, I gotta get on that.

Anyway, yeah. xD

If I even try to choose between Buffy and Firefly my head may explode. I love and adore them both equally. :D

I adored loved Buffy...and I was blown away by Firefly. Dr. Horrible is absolutely brilliant.

So, shameless plug for Buffy fans...I wrote a Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Tales of the Vampires" short comic, which has been published at MySpace Dark Horse Presents. It takes place during the "Retreat" storyarc from Season 8. It's told in two parts.

Part 1 is in issue #31, from last month.

Part 2 is up now, in issue #32.

Haven't seen Dr. Horrible yet. Didn't quite take to Dollhouse as much as I should have. Loved Firefly and Serenity tho' I find myself re-watching the movie more often than the series. Still watch Buffy and Angel re-runs every week.

Wow...this is one of the harder questions out there. Buffy or Firefly? I feel like I'm abandoning them by simply asking the question!
Can I just say his X-Men comics and cop-out?

Buffy! I spent a summer, a year or two ago, watching every episode (and then every episode of Angel).
I've yet to watch Firefly, but I've heard great things about it. I couldn't get into Dollhouse when it first came out, but I'm going to give it another try when I have some time.

I have a question about Whedonverse; doesn't Whedonverse implies that all take place in the same continuous reality (as in the case of Angel and Buffy) rather that the works of the same man? It's just a thought, though. I love all the man has done, except Dollhouse which it was a hit and miss with me.

Oh, boy, I have to *choose*?

I could choose Buffy because that is what got me hooked. Or Angel, for keeping me fixed. Or Firefly for being outright awesome.

It's not fair!

What a question! I love them all so much, but I had to go with Firefly/Serenity. I could watch them over and over again, and I just adore Nathan Fillion.

I loved the earlier seasons of BTVS and ATS, hard core -- they're absolutely the reason I write about vampires now -- but I've been disappointed in most of what Whedon's done since "Firefly." He remains witty and imaginative, but I feel like his work has become too self-consciously "clever." Like he'd rather have the audience go "isn't he brilliant?" than actually tell his characters' stories.

Hi Nicole, would you like me to change the title of the thread for you?

Is this what you wanted to call it?

Joss Whedon: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse?

Please? I thought I could do it, guess that's not possible on these forums. -is a teensy bit embarrassed-

I usually say "Buffyverse" for Buffy and Angel, and "Whedonverse" for all his various works.
