I may not be using the right term here, since it's just the definition that occurred to me, but here goes:

There are lots and lots and lots of fantasy works that take place way after the time of miracles and wonders and legendary heroes, with the protags visiting ancient ruins, finding ancient weapons, relating the old myths to one another, reestablishing contact with the gods, fighting the resurgence of Ultimate Evil, etc.

Heck, my own work is a mild form of that.

But are there any stories out there that actually take place during The Age of Wonders, where the heroes are demigods, the Ultimate Evil roams free, wonders are being constructed, magic is awe-inspiring, and so on and so forth.

It's not that I dislike the usual format, but I would be interested in actually reading about the Age of Wonders for once, rather than being told snippets of it.

So, any recommendations?
