I am about to admit something I feel that no author should ever admit. I don't know what genre my novel is. It is only 45k or so and if any of you out there are willing to give even the first 10 pages a read and give me some advice I would appreciate it on so many levels.
I am a poetry writer, a reasonably successful one, I have been published and recieved a few small awards here in Ireland and decided to take a foray into literary prose. But what began as a literary novella I feel may have turned into a young adult-ish novel. The issue is that it's based on 20 something students discovering themselves, growing, and hence could be for older YA readers or adult fiction..
ARGH. So basically i'm confused and need help and if anyone is willing to scan it for me I would be delighted.
It contains much cursing, some sex and drugs. I would be delighted if you gave me your general opinion about genre, plot holes, character development falling flat.. I do not require a grammar/punctuation person but if you do that i'm never going to say no to good advice!
PM me or email me finola.cahill(at)ucdconnect(dot)ie
Thanks in advance!
