Spazzing a lot little. Just finished my first erotic short story and submitted a query for it.

I don't have patience so of course I'm watching my inbox even though I know it takes a while for the editor to get back to authors.

I have to admit I'm rather proud of myself. Even though the story is just shy of 5k words, it is the first bit of fiction that I have actively finished in a long time. There are other, longer WIPs, but nothing with everything as it should be- beginning, middle, end.

And nothing else has teh nookies in it. My husband was my reader during the whole process and I think the sex is good, at least by the way he's been following me around for the past 3 days, I think it was good. :)

Wish me luck!

Good luck!

The waiting does suck. But the erotica turn-arounds seem to be faster than other genres, if anecdotal evidence counts for anything.

Start writing the next thing!

Good luck!

I have a short story I'm working on right now that sitting at 4200 words. Cobblestone needs at least 5000 so, drat, I have to write more sex.

Attagirl! Do you mind sharing who you subbed to? If you'd rather not, that's okay, too.

Thanks guys!

I sent it to Ravenous Romance. I have heard both good and bad about them, but the good outweighed the bad. I searched for other short story outlets and didn't come up with too much. At least not for authors that were not invited.

I still have time to edit it and thought about posting it in the Blue Room ;-) But I can't find my password. Gah.

I've had one published in an anthology with RR. Their contract isn't great (you're waving goodbye to that story until 70 years after you're dead) though outside of anthologies apparently they're more willing to negotiate. However, they have an aggressive business strategy, and most authors who work with them regularly seem pretty happy. They look like a pretty good place for shorts, since they give them good space on the main page and, hey, there's a pretty limited market anyway!
