I'm moving back to Clarksville in June (40 minutes from Nashvegas), so I definitely plan on going to RWA! :)

I won't be going to the conference, but if anyone needs any information on Nashville just let me know. The conference is being held at the Opryland Hotel--a building I worked on. I think you'll be impressed. It's something like the 8th largest hotel in the US (or the world, I can't remember which).

That sounds awesome!

Thanks! I LOVE psychology. I think I make my students like it as well -- and they learn. (My kids had some of the highest AP exam scores in the country!) Hopefully, I can bring whatever works in my regular classroom with me to Nashville. :)

I just found out that my workshop has been accepted for RWA national conference. Still a bit...catatonic.

So who else is going???

Congratulations! I will try not to be bitter that they rejected my workshop proposal even though I had some big names lined up for it. *cry* Srsly tho, congrats! =)

I am planning to go, even if I have to drive (it's not TOO far from St. Louis), so hope to see you there!

Thanks, Kasey! Sorry they didn't pick yours up...

Going to drive as well from Indianapolis.

Congrats Sandy! I've already paid my registration fee, booked my flight and reserved my timeshare (a mile away from the hotel). I'll have to take a look at your session: sounds interesting.

For anyone of you attending the conference who might want to take a break from the workshops, there is a large outlet mall right beside the Opryland Hotel. If you have kids with you, you might try the Aquarium Restaurant inside the mall; all the kids love it. Also, if you have older children you're bringing, there's a public water park nearby.

There is also a large Delta Queen type showboat (the General Jackson) that cruises from Opryland down the Cumberland and to downtown Nashville. There are both midday and evening cruises. It's a little pricey, but it could be fun if you've never been on a showboat.

That sounds so helpful, honestly. I love psychology too. It was the only class in college (the few times I attempted college) that I truly enjoyed. My sister majored in Psychology, so I got to hear a lot when she got home too. Very fascinating. I would love to sit in on this panel!
Hope you have a great time :D

Yep, I'll be there. I live in the Nashville area, so can't miss the opportunity.

And, like with alleycat, if I can help with any suggestions or local arrangements, just let me know.

I just found out that my workshop has been accepted for RWA national conference.

Well, heck. How wonderful. Sounds like a great workshop, too.

I won't be in Nashville myself, worse luck.

I made all my conference arrangements today so yay! Really looking forward to it, and SO glad that Ace moved my release date up to June 29th from August so I can actually sign at RWA this year. =) Can't wait to meet those of you who are going. And too bad you won't be there this year, Job! I took great pleasure in telling you you were going to win a RITA that morning and then being right! =)

Thanks, Jo! So sorry you won't be there. I would have looked you up at the literacy signing!!

I'm bummed to the max about not going. It's the only signing I do.

Will you be signing?

Dang. I live in Clarksville, too, but let my RWA membership lapse. (another casualty of the bankruptcy)

Hope you all enjoy it. The Opry Mills mall is nice for shopping. There are also other things around town to do, not all of it involving country music.

Alas, I'm but a lowly epub with POD books. Doesn't matter how popular the stories are, I'm not invited to the signing. Maybe someday...

Nothing lowly in epub.

This is going to change eventually.

I'm about 95% certain I'm going. Would be fabulous to meet you folks there. Sandy, your course sounds great. I prefer character-driven stories, and this would help me do a better job of writing them.
