Title

So I've almost completed a novel Im working on YES!... But I am stuck on a title..

Basically its a story about the "four horsemen of the apocalypse, and the fire element." At least thats the first book in the series..

Help me with a name, or suggest.

I know the title isnt important atm, but I'd like to call it something rather then WIP1.

One of my tricks for finding a title is to take a piece of paper and make three columns. Label them Nouns, Adjectives, and Verbs. Then fill in the columns using words relevant to your WIP that are nouns, adjectives and verbs.

Mix and match until you like something.

Okay, I did a bit of Googling, and it seems in the Bible it's only the Black Horseman who speaks. He says "...and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine". I think this is COOL so maybe the title should be "The Oil and the Fire." See? A wee bit of Bible corruption can go a long way.

I really like Fran's suggestion. Other than that, does one of the Horsemen have a larger role (you said it's the first of a series) so you can do something with that? What is the general feel of the novel? Is it lighthearted, dark, twisted, funny, sexy, etc?

I'm toying with a Four Horsemen idea too. But since I'm already writing too many novels to count, I think I'll postpone it until I finish at least one or two others

How do you feel about Apocalyptic puns? How about 'Flame Over'? Or 'The Fire Horsemen'?

If it's just for something to call it other than 'WIP1', does it matter much how good/original it is?

Well I'll be doing a book for each of the horsemen.

No I want a solid title so I can be like here agents this is "unknown" my book blah blah blah kind of deal

My other best suggestion is don't name them after each horseman. Jackie Kessler recently sold a YA series about the four horsemen and has titled them such (Hunger, Rage, etc...).

What is the general atmosphere? Is there a romance? Do you want either fire or war (or Red, as that's his color) in the title or do you want something that'll give that feel without mentioning it? Is there something specific that occurs throughout the book that you could use? Like, for (very, very lame) example, when he appears, does he leave a trail of burned flowers? (OMG, look at my lame-a$$ skillz!)

LOL. Um he basically taunts her through the entire book, at the end he captures her and takes her to the castle to set up for the next book. Its going to be a 5 book series..

Main character is a witch, she does a spell to avenge her parents deaths though it didnt work.. A horsemen is summoned due to a pending war. She is choosen to be one of the 4 people to save the world
