You asked for it, so here it is...

February's prompt... waiting.

No, seriously that's it.

Waiting.

Waiting in line, waiting for someone to call, waiting for your flight to leave, for the mail to come, for that really loud person to finally shut up, for your sweet lover to come home after being away so long...

Take that familiar state of suspended annimation and really crank up the volume on it.

No real rules on this one - do with it what you will.

It worked pretty well, I thought, when Boston posted the links to everyone's January prompt story on the first page of last month's prompt, so I'll do the same. Send me your links as you post your stories to syw and I'll add them to this page.

I love this, Laurie. Frustration from waiting for something, whatever it is, seems like a perfect setup for something horrific to happen. It's filled with tension. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Nice. Verra nice.

*runs out and stickifies thread*

If I wait long enough, maybe I can finish a story for the prompt. :D

I forgot to post here last night that Any Minute Now, my February prompt, has been posted in SYW.

Any Minute Now is Quentin Dallas story for those of you who might be his fans. It's a bit grittier, with less humor, than his first story The Light of an Oncoming Train as our PI of the weird tells us about one of his most bizarre cases.

Okie doke, y'all. My February Prompt:

Date Night

Laurie: To post hyperlinks in text, copy the link to the story and start your thread or edit your post. Then, type the text (in this case the titles of the stories) and highlight the title. On the message box (where you type your message) you'll see a little globe looking thing with a chain link in front of it. Click it and paste the link into the pop-up box, then click ok.

Or, you can just do it this way (make sure to remove the asterisks) [URL="link to the story here"*]Title Here[*/URL] Make sure to put the quotation marks around the link so that the hyperlinking works.

Thank you - notes made for future reference

*wanders off to add Effie's story to first post and fix links*
