After some discussions in the Bordello about creating sexual tension, I'm challenging everyone to a duel create a scene that is oozing tension.

The rules:

1. Aim for at least 1,000 words or so...more is fine, but part of the challenge is to create and maintain tension, so the scene should last longer than a couple hundred words.

2. Pick a Prompt:

a. Playing Chicken: Your two characters want each other so bad they can taste it, but don't think the feeling is mutual. They're now in a situation that is extremely tempting (i.e., stuck in a hotel room together), each waiting for the other to make a move while at the same time trying to drop subtle hints/invitations.

b. Just Wait Til We Get Home: Your characters have had sex before, and it's no secret that they are dying to fuck each other blind. Like, right now. Unfortunately, they're some place where they can't (in church, at the in-laws', at work, on a ferris wheel), and they're both horny as hell.

3. Using one of those prompts (and do feel free to take as many liberties as you need to), wind your characters up something awful. They can fuck if they're so inclined, but try to draw the tension out as long as humanly possible before they finally do anything.

4. Post in this thread.

No deadline or anything like that, since this is an unofficial, non-mod-sanctioned challenge.

So. You in?

Perfect chance to work on ramping up the tension. :) Everyone starts somewhere, so consider this a chance to focus on the tension of ONE scene instead of an entire book.

Just practice, no pressure. :)

Hahaha.... oh boy do I have the perfect story for this... I'm gonna go off on my own prompt just a little bit, though.

I have something I should post... it's a scene I need to have intense sexual tension in... that's bombing horribly and I need help!! I'm usually pretty good at building tension (yes, I'm delusional too!) ... but this one isn't working at all. I'll post it later today

Ooh! I shall certainly take up your gage madam!
Eventually.

There's a couple of characters in the 'new' novella that would uh...profit by scenario number one. And by profit I mean 'be pushed to wishing to murder their so-loving author' :D

Hmm. I think the chapter after this one will work for scenario one...

In fact, it's probably just what it'll need :D
