I'm in the process of finding an intellectual property lawyer to help me with an issue related to the book I'm working on, and I'm planning to ask the lawyer to also help me draw up a simple contract I could use with future writing clients. Nothing fancy or scary, just a little written agreement to keep myself from getting burned.
Just curious as to whether any of you have your writing clients sign anything before you start working together. Did you do it yourself or hire a lawyer? If you don't use a contract, why not?
