Okay, my short story is finished.

I'm sure Neuro is THRILLED to read this!!

It's polished, and I let it "cook" for a while before I polished it.

Question: Do I enslose a letter with the manuscript, or just send the manuscript?

This represents my first attempt at selling my work.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Check the submission guidelines for the appropriate publication and follow them to a T. They may want biographical information and a list of writing credits, so that information can be incorporated into a letter of transmittal. Don't sweat it if there are no writing credits. Best of luck with it.

You do include a letter (unless they say they don't want one), but keep it short. Just give the story title/word count/genre and any credits if you have them (otherwise, don't mention credits).
