I have my manuscript placed with two agents (neither is exclusive). I entered the ABNA last year with a different manuscript and it helped quite a bit with my book. However, I would like to enter the ABNA again this year, but I don't want to miss out on opportunities with the agents. Should I just go ahead? Can I pull the book out if, in the unlikely event, it gets a contract during the contest?

What's ABNA? Personally if you have agents already interested then you obviously have something good and you'll have a better chance with them than you would in a contest I'd imagine. Also a lot of contracts offered through contests are non-negotiable, which is a big negative IMO. It's possible that you could get an agent and negotiate a better contract through traditional means.

I just searched Amazon's site and can't find a reference to entering the ABNA contest. All I get is book that entered the contest. So how do I enter?

ABNA details and links to enter (entry doesn't open till the 25th)

I've considered entering the ABNA myself. You mentioned entering last year. What was it like and how did you find it helped your book? Do they give feedback to entrants?

Stick with the agents.

I might consider it next year [just for the chance of attracting Penguin :D]
